Scripture: John 11:25-26 – “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?'”
Reflection: In a world that often prioritizes knowledge and skepticism, Jesus invites us to a deeper understanding through faith. Like Carl Sagan, many seek to “know” rather than “believe.” Yet, true life and eternal hope are found in a relationship with Jesus, not just intellectual assent. Reflect on areas in your life where you rely more on knowledge than faith. How can you shift your focus to trust in Jesus?
Prayer: Lord, help me to move beyond mere knowledge and embrace a faith that transforms my life. Strengthen my belief in You as the resurrection and the life. Amen.
Scripture: John 11:43-44 – “When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out.’ The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth.”
Reflection: The story of Lazarus is a powerful testament to Jesus’ authority over life and death. His command brought Lazarus back to life, demonstrating His power as the resurrection. Consider the areas in your life that feel dead or hopeless. How can you invite Jesus to bring new life and hope into those situations?
Prayer: Jesus, I invite You into the areas of my life that feel lifeless. Breathe new life and hope into my circumstances, and help me trust in Your power to resurrect and restore. Amen.
Scripture: Romans 12:15 – “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”
Reflection: The Jews who came to console Martha and Mary exemplify the importance of community in times of mourning. As Christians, we are called to support one another in both joy and sorrow. Reflect on how you can be present for others in their times of need. How can you offer comfort and support to those who are grieving?
Prayer: Father, help me to be a source of comfort and support to those around me. Teach me to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep, reflecting Your love and compassion. Amen.
Scripture: John 14:6 – “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
Reflection: Jesus’ declaration as the resurrection and the life is a statement of exclusivity. In a world seeking meaning through various means, Jesus stands as the sole source of true life and purpose. Reflect on the ways you might seek fulfillment outside of Christ. How can you realign your life to find true meaning in Him alone?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to find my purpose and fulfillment in You alone. Remind me that You are the way, the truth, and the life, and guide me to live in alignment with Your will. Amen.
Scripture: John 11:27 – “She said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.'”
Reflection: Martha’s confession of faith is a powerful declaration of belief in Jesus as the Christ and the Son of God. This same invitation is extended to each of us. Reflect on your own faith journey. Do you believe in Jesus as the resurrection and the life? How can you deepen your relationship with Him today?
Prayer: Jesus, I confess that You are the Christ, the Son of God. Strengthen my faith and help me to live in the light of Your resurrection and life. Draw me closer to You each day. Amen.
