Day 1: The Fear of the Unknown

Scripture: John 11:25-26

Reflection: Reflect on the universal fear of death and the unknown. How does Jesus’ promise of being the “resurrection and the life” provide comfort and assurance? Consider how this promise changes your perspective on life and death.

Questions:

1. What are your personal fears about the unknown, and how can you bring them to Jesus?

2. How does believing in Jesus as the resurrection and life impact your daily life?

Prayer: Lord, help me to trust in Your promise of eternal life. Calm my fears and fill me with the peace that comes from knowing You hold my future. Amen.

Day 2: Jesus’ Compassion and Power

Scripture: John 11:33-35

Reflection: Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus, showing His deep compassion. Yet, He also demonstrated His power over death. Reflect on the balance of Jesus’ empathy and authority.

Questions:

1. How does knowing Jesus weeps with you in your pain change your view of Him?

2. In what areas of your life do you need to trust in Jesus’ power?

Prayer: Compassionate Savior, thank You for understanding my pain and for Your mighty power to overcome it. Help me to lean on You in times of trouble. Amen.

Day 3: The Call to Believe

Scripture: John 11:40-42

Reflection: Jesus calls us to believe in Him, promising that we will see the glory of God. Reflect on the areas of your life where you struggle to believe and trust in His promises.

Questions:

1. What doubts do you need to bring before God today?

2. How can you actively choose to believe in Jesus’ promises?

Prayer: Father, strengthen my faith and help me to see Your glory in my life. Remove my doubts and fill me with unwavering trust in You. Amen.

Day 4: New Life in Christ

Scripture: Ephesians 2:4-6

Reflection: Just as Lazarus was called out of the grave, we are called to new life in Christ. Reflect on what it means to live as a new creation, free from the bondage of sin.

Questions:

1. What “grave clothes” do you need to shed to fully embrace your new life in Christ?

2. How can you live out your identity as a new creation today?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for raising me to new life. Help me to leave behind my old ways and walk in the freedom and joy of being Your child. Amen.

Day 5: The Hope of Resurrection

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:42-44

Reflection: The resurrection of Lazarus points to the greater hope of our future resurrection. Reflect on the hope and assurance this gives you for the future.

Questions:

1. How does the promise of resurrection shape your view of eternity?

2. In what ways can you share this hope with others?

Prayer: Eternal God, thank You for the hope of resurrection and eternal life. Help me to live each day with this hope in mind and to share it with those around me. Amen.
