Day 1: The Nature of Belief Scripture: John 11:25-26
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’”
Reflect on the nature of belief. Jesus challenges us to move beyond intellectual acknowledgment to a deep, personal, and experiential faith in Him. Consider what it means to truly believe in Jesus as the resurrection and the life. How does this belief transform your daily life and perspective on eternity?
Prayer: Lord, help me to deepen my faith in You, not just in Your power, but in Your person. May my belief in You transform my life and give me hope in the promise of eternal life.
Day 2: The Purpose of Miracles Scripture: John 11:43-44
“When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out.’ The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, ‘Unbind him, and let him go.’”
Miracles are signs pointing to the glory of God and the identity of Jesus as the Son of God. Reflect on how the miracle of Lazarus’ resurrection serves as a testament to Jesus’ divine authority. Consider how God’s miraculous works in your life are meant to draw you closer to Him.
Prayer: Father, open my eyes to see Your hand at work in my life. May the miracles I witness lead me to a deeper faith and trust in You.
Day 3: God’s Sovereign Plan Scripture: John 11:49-52
“But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, ‘You know nothing at all. Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish.’ He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.”
Reflect on the sovereignty of God, who uses even the actions of His enemies to fulfill His redemptive plan. Consider how God’s purposes are accomplished despite human opposition. How does this assurance of God’s sovereignty bring peace and confidence to your life?
Prayer: Sovereign Lord, thank You for Your perfect plan that cannot be thwarted. Help me to trust in Your will, even when I don’t understand the circumstances around me.
Day 4: The Call to Faith Scripture: John 1:12-13
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”
Reflect on the privilege of being called a child of God through faith in Jesus. Consider what it means to receive Jesus and believe in His name. How does this identity as a child of God shape your relationship with Him and with others?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible privilege of being Your child. Help me to live out this identity in my daily life, reflecting Your love and grace to those around me.
Day 5: Embracing Jesus and His Life Scripture: John 11:57
“Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.”
Despite the opposition, Jesus pressed forward to fulfill His mission. Reflect on the courage and determination of Jesus to accomplish His Father’s will. Consider how you can embrace the life and hope that Jesus offers, trusting in His sufficiency and the fulfillment of His promises.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your unwavering commitment to fulfill the Father’s will. Help me to embrace the life and hope You offer, trusting in Your sufficiency and the promises You have made.
