Scripture: Matthew 28:16–20

Day 1: Final Words, First Priority

Scripture: Matthew 28:16–20

Reflection: The final words of the risen Jesus are not casual or optional — they are the defining mission of the Church. The Great Commission is not reserved for pastors or missionaries, but for every believer. It is a call to movement, multiplication, and obedience in every generation.

Meditation:

  • Have I allowed Jesus’ final words to become the priority of my daily life?

  • Do I treat the Great Commission as a personal responsibility?

  • In what ways can I begin to take more ownership of this calling?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, let Your final command shape my everyday choices. Make me a person who lives with Your mission at the center of my life.

Day 2: The Supremacy of Christ

Scripture: Matthew 28:18

Reflection: Before Jesus gives the Commission, He declares His universal authority: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” His Lordship is the foundation for our obedience. He does not ask for volunteers — He issues a royal commission to all who follow Him.

Meditation:

  • Do I submit to Christ’s authority in every area of my life?

  • Are there specific areas where I’m resisting His Lordship?

  • How does knowing Jesus reigns over everything change the way I live today?

Prayer: King Jesus, You have all authority. Help me to joyfully surrender every part of my life to Your reign and serve You with boldness.

Day 3: Disciples, Not Decisions

Scripture: Matthew 28:19

Reflection: Jesus calls us to make disciples, not merely converts. A disciple is a learner, a follower, and a student of Christ who continues to grow in obedience and love. Discipleship is a long, relational journey — not a quick transaction.

Meditation:

  • Who am I intentionally discipling or investing in right now?

  • Do I view discipleship as a personal calling or someone else’s job?

  • What might it look like to walk alongside someone in their journey with Jesus?

Prayer: Father, give me eyes to see the people around me who need encouragement and spiritual guidance. Help me step into the work of disciple-making with faithfulness.

Day 4: Baptized into the Name

Scripture: Matthew 28:19

Reflection: Baptism is a public declaration of faith and union with the Triune God. It symbolizes being buried with Christ and raised into new life. Jesus commands baptism not as a bonus but as a beginning — an essential first step of obedience and identity.

Meditation:

  • Have I taken the step of baptism to publicly identify with Jesus?

  • Do I treat baptism as a celebration of God’s grace and my obedience?

  • How can I encourage others to take this step of faith?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving us the gift of baptism. May I walk boldly in the new identity You’ve given me and call others to do the same.

Day 5: Never Alone

Scripture: Matthew 28:20

Reflection: Jesus closes the Commission with this beautiful promise: “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” He does not send us out in our own strength. Through His Spirit, He remains present with us — empowering, guiding, and sustaining us through every step of obedience.

Meditation:

  • Do I live as if Jesus is truly present with me today?

  • Where do I need to rely more on His presence and power?

  • How does His promise give me courage in difficult or uncertain situations?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You that I am never alone. Remind me of Your nearness and empower me through Your Spirit to obey You with confidence and peace.
