Paradise Lost (Part 3): The First Gospel Promise
At the very moment sin enters the world and paradise is lost, God does something astonishing. Before Adam and Eve are expelled from Eden, before the curse reaches the ground, and before death claims its first victim, God announces hope.
Genesis 3:15 has often been called the Protoevangelium—the first proclamation of the gospel. Here, the Judge who pronounces the curse also announces the cure. God declares war against the kingdom of darkness and promises the coming Seed who will crush the serpent’s head, conquer sin and death, and restore what the first Adam lost.
In this message, we examine God’s curse upon the serpent, the spiritual conflict that began in Eden, and the glorious promise of Jesus Christ—the promised Seed, the second Adam, and the Snake-Crushing Savior. From Genesis to Revelation, the entire story of Scripture points to Him.
